Nurin
We expect to one day bury our parents - never our children.
If the child really is Nurin as per indicated by the DNA results - al Fatihah.
If it is not - al Fatihah.

Al fatihah. I was so sad when i read the newsflash. But even if the body is not Nurin's, we still mourn for the daughter, sister, grandchild of someone. The beast must be found!!!
i am angered and saddened too. What do we teach our kids, kakteh? Never talk to strangers? dont help any strangers that seem to be in need - help them find a lost cat, help them find an address, help them cross the road? No. And dont trust any man, not even your father, brother, uncle, grandfather all?
What kind of society do we live in now? Dont trust anyone, live in fear. I dont hope that the child would be Nurin, i dont hope the child wouldnt be Nurin, i hope that there is no child's body in a bag at all! And that there wont ever be again.
The beast must be taken in and treated like one would a beast.
memang sedih sangatt!!
Dah lah I memang paranoid when it comes to my kids. Sekarang lagilah paranoid.
What saddens me is that she was taken at the pasar malam. Takkan takde orang tengok? Takde orang halang? Takde orang soal? Takde orang ambik nompor plate, just in case?
Are we living in such a self absorbed world now?
lagi menggerun kan, becuase if it is true then things will only get worse.
kalau dulu lah, orang pasar malam akan suruh budak tu balik rumah! back in the day, the whole village was our parents' eyes and ears.
it's a wild world out there,i must think twice (darab seratus) before i loosen my apron strings.
i am sad, angry and scared.
how are u my dear?
What you wrote on yr post, reminds me of what was said by my father when he was burying my younger brother. 'You were suppose to to take me to the ground...'.
I don't hv kids, and like you, instead of body in that bag, I just wish it was anak patung org nak buat recycle...
elisataufik,
the whole country (and beyond) is fuming with anger. May all our fervent prayers, help get the beast caught!
But elisa, i dont see why we should cage our kids! It is THEM, the beasts that should be caged!
nazrah,
u are right. We used to menyebok taking care of our neighbors kids too. When i was a kid, God forbids, i wouldnt want to be seen doing things that Mak forbade me by anyone at all, because all the anyone-at-all would report to my Mak and i could be in trouble. SEkarang even when teachers punish kids, parents would scream murder. Apatah lagi neighbors. So what do we do?
I am as okay as i can be, Nazrah. I am saddened by the loss of my mom but i am ashamed that the family of Nurin is going through worse than me. Sobers me up. Thanks, baby.
Hjh EJ,
i am sorry to hear the loss of your brother.
True, parents have lived their lives, but kids have so much ahead of them. I only think i can imagine the grief of losing a child, but i am sure what i imagine is just a fraction of what Nurin's family must be feeling.
I've been a constant reader of your blog (and comments) curtesy of strong recommendations by a mutual friend (if at all?). But never before have I left a mark. I will so now. I'm moved by your strength and will to rise in what must have been one of your darkest hours... and that you still have empathy for the sufferings of others. I wouldn't be too sure that anyone else could be half as strong should the tables be turned. Hats off to you, Ood. You've done your parents proud.

Dear Ood,
Everybody is saddened by what happened to Nurin.
After almost a month of failing to locate Nurin and the monster, the IGP is talking about prosecuting her parent? Two Yes Ministers i.e. Shahrizat and Nazri were parroting the same line! What an outrage.
Maybe we should prosecute the IGP for failing to do what he is paid to do?
Al-fatihah to Nurin.
Rgds,
poisonous anonymous,
err... thank you?
kna,
why noy sue make a police report on Menteri Dalam Negeri and the IGP for their failure to 'menjaga keselamatan dalam negeri'?
I walk in town clutching my handbag, if i go to the ATM i will be very nervous for the queue behind me. If i need to go to money changer, i'll drag Yamtuan or any male colleague to follow me. When i bring the kids out, i almost want to glue them to my hips.
when the city isnt safe anymore, if anything happens to a child, why stop at arresting the parents? Go all the way, arrest the menteri and IGP too!
